Case Study - Babcock

the challenge

Babcock provides a highly skilled and diverse service to the Royal Navy in addition to various commercial clients. They require a variety of niche skill sets and flexible resource across the marine sector in order to fulfil high profile contracts.

These include the design and build of the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carrier, ongoing support of the Successor submarines programme and the ongoing maintenance and refit of the fleet.

In addition, Babcock required resource to ensure the smooth onboarding of temporary workers including completion of Defence Vetting Authority checks, Health & Safety inductions and orientation.

the solution

We provide a dedicated onsite team at HMNB Devonport, including a client relationship manager, resourcing consultant and an account co-ordinator. The team work closely with Babcock’s HR team and hiring community to understand and manage their recruitment requirements from the initial receipt of a vacancy, through to CV screening and arranging access to their security-cleared site for interviewing.

We also arrange induction on the first day and provide an onsite contractor drop-in service to manage temporary agency workers’ and consultancies’ day-to-day queries.
